PEOPLE ON THE MOVE

Today, my group was told to go in to uni and get our feedback off our lectures for our People On The Move film....

After finalising our film the week before, we then screened our film to the class and also watched all the films from our other peers...
We completed a rough cut for Corin and Camilla the week previous to this day that they and ourselves can watch before having to finally edit and complete our film. I found this a very good concept when watching the rough cut back ourselves as it gave myself and the group an insight as to what needed to be made better. We decided some shots were not as clear as we had hoped for and therefore took it upon our selves to go out and re shoot the next day. Once we had finished re shooting particular scenes, we then got to the edit and placed all our shots in sequence. When we were out re shooting, I realised how much smoother the filming actually went compared to our first day of shooting. I think this was because we had a much more clear idea of the shots we wanted and exactly how we wanted them to look. Even though when we filmed our first shoot, everything event well as we did follow the storyboard however, I feel that we needed an extra day to tighten up some shots. This became apparent when watching back the first rough cut.
Anyway after getting together all our re shoots and finalising the edit, we then screened our film to the class. I found this rather nerve racking as I had no idea what the audiences thoughts and reactions would be...It was what we as a group had hoped for. The audience laughed at the correct parts we were expecting to be 'funny' and we were given good feedback from our peers.

So today as I said above we went in to get our actual feedback from our lectures....
We were graded a very high 2:2. I have to say, I'm kind of disappointed in this. I didn't expect our film to get a First as I know this is our first film ever made at univertsiy, but I do think we deserved a bit more credit. The feedback was good, but generally negative, even our lecture said 'sorry for making it seem negative' but then again, he was telling us what we can improve on, so I guess we should take this good advise and put it to much use during the second semester where we create a five minute documentary. I CANT WAIT. So watch this space.....
